As we celebrate the 65th anniversary of Brown vs. Board of Education, the 2019 Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) Project Directors Meeting is an opportunity for the magnet school community to discuss the effect of MSAP on school integration, diversity, and equity. This year’s theme encourages dialog on the approaches and education practices that promote diversity and increase students’ knowledge of academic subjects through high-demand, career-related themes, inquiry-based and personalized instruction, and leading-edge technology.
This year’s Project Directors Meeting will offer current and past MSAP grantees, the broader magnet sector, and other school choice and diversity experts a wealth of information through general, breakout, and peer-to-peer learning opportunities. The sessions will cover key magnet topics around project implementation, desegregation and diversity, enrollment management, theme-based curriculum, and program sustainability, that will help improve your magnet school work. Ample time will be provided to learn from and build relationships with fellow grantees, expert consultants, and U.S. Department of Education (ED) staff.
During this Meeting, ED staff will share program updates, information on evidence of promise evaluations, and their expectations for grantees.
